MURAL Festival 2025: Celebrating Urban Art in Montreal
Each June, Montreal’s Saint-Laurent Boulevard transforms into a vibrant open-air gallery during the MURAL Festival. Now in its 13th edition, the 2025 festival runs from June 5 to 15 and offers a free celebration of urban art, music, and community spirit.
A Canvas of Creativity
MURAL Festival is a nonprofit initiative dedicated to making street art accessible to all. The event features large-scale murals, live musical performances, digital installations, and technology-centric exhibitions, turning the city into a dynamic art space.
If you’re interested in seeing past featured works, MURAL Fest has created a dynamic map of murals around Montreal.

This year’s lineup includes renowned visual artists such as Belin, Francorama, HOXXOH, Katie Green, LaCharbonne, Margotella, Satr, WhatIsAdam, Zéh Palito, and Zek. Their works will adorn the city’s walls, offering residents and visitors a chance to witness art in the making
Beyond the Murals
MURAL Festival extends beyond visual art, incorporating a rich program of musical events and cultural activities. Highlights include performances by MOONSHINE, FLÉAU DICAPRIO + RACCOON, and the Caribbean Block Party. These events foster a lively atmosphere, encouraging community engagement and cultural exchange.
A Legacy of Artistic Expression
Initiatives like MURAL Festival exemplify Montreal’s commitment to public art. This dedication resonates with the legacy of artists like Milos Reindl, a Czech-Canadian artist known for his paintings, film posters and sketches. Reindl, who called Montreal home, contributed significantly to the city’s artistic landscape.

Reindl’s journey from Czechoslovakia to Canada as a political refugee in 1968 mirrors the diverse narratives celebrated by MURAL Festival. His work, influenced by European modern art and Czech Cubism, adds depth to Montreal’s rich tapestry of cultural expression.
Embracing the Festival
For art enthusiasts and community members alike, MURAL Festival offers an immersive experience into the world of urban art. Attendees can explore the murals, participate in workshops, and enjoy live performances, all while engaging with the city’s vibrant culture.
As Montreal continues to celebrate creativity and inclusivity through events like MURAL Festival, it upholds a tradition of welcoming diverse artistic voices, much like it did with Milos Reindl. This commitment ensures that the city remains a dynamic hub for artistic innovation and cultural dialogue.
