Likewise many visual artists, the subject of «The artist and his model» was one of Milos’ privileged themes with its many possible variations : artist and model both to be seen in the painting during the creative act, the artist alone in the centre while painting his model which is invisible for the viewer of the work , or the model alone being the centre of the work as the painter’s eyes see her.
