PAINTINGS
INTERIORS
Milos Reindl painted hundreds of different «interiors» which can be said to be another very prolific theme of his artistic work.
These interior scenes may simply be imaginative configurations, may be based on childhood memories, or describing friend’s places he visited during his various travels, etc, and they almost all are clearly identified through a reversed triangular shape on the upper part of the painting, representing a section of the ceiling, and an open door or window which attracts the viewers gaze to the outside and into the surrounding cityscape or landscape. I always had the feeling that thanks to these interior scenes, describing often a kind of domestic atmosphere with family and friends, Milos tried to stay connect with the good moments in his life, be it the ones in his native Chechoslovakia before his emigration, as well as those during the 33 years he lived in the New World while regularly travelling back to Europe in order to keep contact with his family and friends.
