CHILDHOOD MEMORIES
Reindl was a very nostalgic person, a trait probably enhanced through the dramatic circumstances of the self-imposed and yet forced emigration to Canada just before Christmas 1968.
Both were stripped of their Czech citizenship as a result and therefore without any nationality for several years until they got the Canadian citizenship a couple of years later. This event had been the insult which had still been added to the unjust! Milos talked often about his childhood, floating memories of the beautiful family villa in Podebrady, a small spa-town in Central Bohemia some 50 km East of Prague, its luxurious garden surrounding it, the many acquaintances and guests which gave a particular life to this opulent house. Those and many other memories from this period of his life now lie hidden in numerous paintings of Reindl.
